I don’t really want to trade down unless we get a couple of the following things:

- Our 2019 1st is still in the top 6-10 picks

- we pick up a 2019 first

- we pick up multiple future 1sts or 2nds

I have no formula on what I think is fair compensation, but basically I’m saying I don’t want to trade down unless it’s a haul.  We have a guaranteed pick of an elite prospect, and shouldn’t plan on having that type of pick anytime in the near future unless our plan goes to excrement.
My dad always says he's undefeated at tailgating

Maybe it's not I who doesn't know what he's talking about

My ideal scenario is the Giants trading their two first rounders to move up to 3.  But I never get what i want, so i'm not even gonna entertain it.

The link i posted had us trading back with the Skins.  Is it ideal? No...but it's not the end of the world unless we squander the pick(s).

Everyone keeps saying we're gonna end up with a elite player if we stay at 3.  Nothing is guaranteed. Vernon Gholston looked good at the combine too.

EDIT: I wish we had a 2nd round pick this year.

I wouldn't call it pee poor to trade back to 15....one of the players i really like in this draft and would fill a major need for us is Garrett Bradbury. I'd be happy if we selected him at 15.

I think Harrison starting for us at Center is a disaster waiting to happen.

I agree with a lot of this, but it surprises me that you would be in love with Bradbury when he is so similar - in good ways and bad - to Weston Richburg, who you wanted nothing to do with.

Weston Richburg's concussion history was my issue.

I said elite prospect, not elite player. Vernon Gholston was not that. The top 5-10 of that draft was super weak.

Quote
ESPN — Todd McShay
Round 1, No. 3, DT Quinnen Williams, Alabama
Round 3, No. 68, DE Zach Allen, Boston College
Round 3, No. 93, WR Kelvin Harmon, NC State
"Williams is ferocious in the middle, and I see him as a top-two talent in the draft class. Between Williams and Allen, the Jets take a solid step forward on the defensive line. Williams has a great first step, and Allen transitions from speed to power very quickly. By taking Harmon late in the third, the Jets get Sam Darnold a hands catcher with size"

ESPN — Mel Kiper
Round 1, No. 3, Edge Josh Allen, Kentucky
Round 3, No. 68, OL Michael Deiter, Wisconsin
Round 3, No. 93, CB Amani Oruwariye, Penn State
"This comes down to Allen or Quinnen Williams for the Jets, and both are going to be impact contributors as rookies. New York's biggest need is on the edge, however, so I lean toward Allen, the SEC Defensive Player of the Year who had 17 sacks last season.
The Jets are in a good spot here, and after trading up for Sam Darnolda year ago, they don't have a second-round pick in this draft. They do have an extra third-rounder from the preseason trade of Teddy Bridgewater (remember when he was a Jet?). Deiter is my second-ranked center, but he has some versatility as he played guard, center and tackle over 54 college starts. Oruwariye is a big, 6-foot-2 corner who had seven interceptions over the past two seasons. You can't count on third-rounders as immediate starters, but Deiter and Oruwariye could compete for spots."

I prefer Kipers mock to McShays by a lot. Harmon would be a great pick with our 2nd 3rd rounder though.

Zach Allen doesn’t strike me as a great fit at 3-4 OLB. I would be more ok with him if we took Josh Allen over Q in that mock.

Why?
I'd rather have Allen and the subsequent picks are a push for me.

Participating in a mock on another forum with trades...

Ed Oliver
Amani Oruwariye
Elgton Jenkins
Tytus Howard
Mecole Hardman

Haul through 3 rounds so far

I traded back with Oakland to get a second and I moved backed from that pick to get an extra third and fourth.

I traded from 3 to 4.

Oakland gave me their second to move up one spot.

Quinnen, Bosa, and Allen were off the board.  Cardinals GM loves Josh Rosen, which created a different look up to because he obviously wasn’t going QB there.

I like Josh Allen as a prospect, but I don’t have him rated higher than Oliver.  A move back wasn’t difficult for me to make.
