I’m less confident today than a month ago that we can get a trade down with someone looking for a QB.  I know it’s too early for anything to matter, but the landscape has changed a little bit.

Based on the rumors as they stand:

The Kyler Murray hype has been pretty underwhelming so far, which didn’t help us

JAX wants to trade for Nick Foles
MIA is tanking, they wouldn’t burn picks trading up for a QB
DEN is rumored to love Drew Lock. Could be BS, maybe they want to jump the NYG for Haskins
WAS - fit for Teddy B? Considering the Alex Smith situation I don’t think they’ll trade up unless they are convinced it is for a franchise QB. They’re probably hoping Murray or Lock fall to them or will roll the dice on Daniel Jones

If JAX trades for Foles, I think the Giants might be able to sit on the 6 pick and have Haskins fall to them. Unless DEN is waiting in the shadows but they would probably be trading with OAK/TB and not us to leapfrop NYG

^ I was thinking about that recently. There are going to be some QBs available via trade/free agency which are going to help teams have a little more patience in the draft, so a trade-down is probably not happening.

I've been harping for months about going all-in on offense because this is a pass-first league, and just last week I was advocating using even the 3 pick to acquire a tackle, but after the Super Bowl, I have to walk back my words. Defense still can win you a title.

I'd still rather go with Taylor, but if they decide to go with an elite pass-rush threat, I'm okay with that now too.
Teams that draft well do so no matter where they pick. Teams that draft poorly do so no matter where they pick I want my team to win games and draft well

No trade required, he's voiding his option and will be a free agent.

I would think they’ll attempt to tag and trade him

Edit:  maybe.

Breer-

So this is pretty simple. Philly now has a month to shop Foles as if he’s on the tag. If they find takers at the right price, they tag and trade him. If they don’t, then they let him walk.

Why would Foles sign the tag? He knows that Philly have zero desire to pay him tag money so why would he go along with the plan when it costs him? If he walks to FA in a month then the Eagles are guaranteed a 3rd round comp anyway.

after thinking about it more, the only player i wouldn't trade out for is bosa if he drops to 3. as much as i love allen, i'd be cool with a trade down several spots if it netted us extra picks. if we trade down a few spots, I want us to take Jawaan Taylor

with the 2nd rounder we pick up id like us to draft any one of these WR that make it there (if they make it there)
DK Metcalf
Hakeem Butler
N'Keal Harry
Deebo Samuel
AJ Brown

Still have to watch more video on the RB prospects, but my favorite so far is Justice Hill followed by David Montgomery. If we can't sign Le'Veon it'd be awesome if we could nab one of these two with one of our 3rd round picks. I'd also like to see us target an interior OL with one of those 3rds or our 4th

just some thoughts, knowing that drafts never end up the way fans want or imagine them to be

Super Bowl champ #Patriots own the #Bears 2nd-rd pick (No. 56) & #Lions 3rd-rd pick (No. 73), and are projected to land two 3rd-rd compensatory picks.

Including their own 1 (No. 32) & 2 (No. 64), New England should hold *SIX* selections inside the ~ Top 100 of this year's draft.

This is after they had 2 first rounders last year?

@nfldraftscout:This is the latest on what I'm hearing at the top of the draft. Bosa is expected to go first, but there's room for Quinnen or Josh Allen there too.

Big if true

Matt Miller has some interesting opinions and Stick to Football doesn't really suck anymore, but he doesn't have any insider information.

He is a constant victim of Old Takes Exposed because he just throws excrement at the wall and hopes that it sticks.
