Has played in just five games over last two years
Had season-ending surgery on same knee in back-to-back years
My dad always says he's undefeated at tailgating

Maybe it's not I who doesn't know what he's talking about

He was one of the best corners in the game before blowing his knee out.

I’m not sure he’ll recover from back-to-back tears but it’s an interesting gamble.

“Austin came into the 2017 season as an up-and-coming prospect, catching NFL scouts' eyes with 14 pass breakups as sophomore (41 tackles, one sack, one INT in 11 starts). He started the first four games of his junior season and then suffered a torn ACL, which ended his season prematurely (12 tackles, one INT, one PBU). Another knee injury occurring in the 2018 opener (three tackles, two for loss, one sack, one interception against Texas State) short-circuited his final year with Scarlet Knights. Instead of seeking a redshirt season, Austin declared himself eligible for the 2019 NFL Draft.”

Seems like another Redshirt CB Pick ala Derrick Jones and Jeremy Clark.

I would prefer a less injury prone prospect, at basically any other position

Lol what are you basing this on? How does this guy have a history of making big plays or project to do so?

Yeah I should have specified. I didn’t mean “big” like explosive. Wesco and 30 yard gains are not a common occurrence. I meant “big” as in “clutch” or “impactful” he’s a guy that will get you 6 yards on 3rd and 4, and score 4-5 TDS a year in the red zone as a slip through on a play action rollout. I’d wager he makes 1-2 key plays a game for us.

Eerily similar to Jeremy Clark

Again, I’m not sure where you are getting this from. I don’t know much about his college career, so are you saying a fair amount of his 28 receptions over 3 years fall into this category? Or is this just something you foresee happening at the NFL level?

As a #2 TE / Hback in the pros, he can catch 20 balls a season in a passhappy offense. He has the ability to run routes and enough athleticism to get open in certain spots with absolutely zero attention on him that he can make some plays. I’m not predicting tons of plays, just that he’s a guy that makes a big play time and again and the casual fan decides he’s a great guy on the roster.

Rodney Anderson to Bengals

The Robby/Rodney Anderson dream is dead.

30 picks to go, and there’s still a bunch of WRs I would be happy with in UDFA

Hopefully that was the plan all along, and have already spoken to a few

There will be a back or two worth bringing in. As for WR we needed a very specific guy if we were going to take one IMO.

Have to believe we will be a destination for UDFA OLineman and DBs tonight.

Macc does UDFA based on BPA, not on need, everyone knows that

Sure but UDFAs also get a say in where they go (to some extent) OL will be picking us over other teams, same with DBs and WRs. Meanwhile no DL with an alternative should be picking us.
