I wonder if Idzik makes another trade for a key role player like he did for Chris Ivory.  It'd be pretty awesome if he could land a young receiver that's buried on someone's depth chart.

This guy would be nice. Doesn't seem to be a major part of their future.

I just wonder how much of a cap hit Idzik gives Wilkerson and Howard this year.

It wouldnt be a bad move if he gives them both larger cap hits this year, so we have more flexibility with the inevitable extensions in the near future whne all our young guys start peaking.

Howard is solid but he's a middle tier FA.

I think this is the right year for the team to extend Wilk. He has very little leverage to push his number.

He  still plays a relatively expensive position.

Though I guess we shouldnt expect him to cost too much. 4-5 million a year on a relatively short contract probably?

Yeah, give all the money up front so they can hold out on the cheap years.

How many players REALLY ever hold out ?

And by making a contract in a reasonable manner they could completely avoid it from being a problem.

Hell who was the last player to have a legit holdout for something OTHER than a matter related to a rookie contract (or player playing at a high level still on his rookie contract)

Even Tanny was able to put a clause in Revis's bandaid contract preventing him from holding out again

Tooooooon

With Toon we'd have at least three second generation Jets with the team.
