The garbage quarterback class in 2019 makes our trade up and selection of Sam Darnold even sweeter.

Loaded running back and offensive line groups this year, which is also good news for us.  The wideout group has some good players too.

While we are a million miles from draft day and just as many potential scenarios away from knowing what's going to happen, but I think it's safe to say we need to go offense in round 1, preferably bringing in an elite OT or a playmaker.

Need a new one for a new board...

This class is going to have one of the best defensive groups of all-time.  There's at least seven defensive prospects on paper that could have top three potential right now and four of them are defensive linemen.

Ed Oliver is the best defensive linemen to enter the league since Julius Peppers.  He is a better version of Aaron Donald as a prospect.

It really depends on how the team performs in 2018.  If we're a 6-8 win team, we'll be outside of the top ten and looking at a lot of solid interior offensive linemen, wide receivers, and potentially an elite tight end like Iowa's Noah Fant.

This class will be loaded with pass rushers too.  We need at least two quarterbacks to perform well enough to go in the top five.  That helps our team out in a big way during the draft.

We're going to have a lot of money to spend in free agency too.

Maccagnan knows he has to build around Sam Darnold.  We basically gave up three premium picks to move up for an offensive player, so at least we finally invested on that side of the ball.

I hope we soup up the offensive line in free agency and add skill players through the draft.

While I'm all about surrounding Darnold with talent, it would be hard to pass up on an elite edge prospect. Luckily, FA can be used as the primary way to add talent to the offense next offseason.

Once again, I'll likely go on hoping we finally draft a good RB prospect.

If I had to guess, tackle and DL are favorites for 1st round targets next year.

Lock coming out this year?
My dad always says he's undefeated at tailgating

Maybe it's not I who doesn't know what he's talking about

He might.  Hopefully he is overrated/overhyped and someone like Miami wastes a pick on him.

As of now, I'm not sure any of the QBs in this group would have sniffed the top 5 of 2018. Pretty underwhelming class. You could have a Baker Mayfield type rise, but it doesn't look good from afar.

Way too early to hone in on position groups, but a WR or OT would be funbags. This franchise needs to use thE exact opposite strategy that the Colts took with Luck. Protect Darnold and surround him with talent at all costs.

I'm not so worried about how positions of need get filled as long as they do.  The Jets have plenty of cash for free agents.

I will say that it seems to be very difficult to draft a successful OT from college lately.  Maybe there is something to the theory that the spread offenses in college are affecting the development of offensive tackles.

Maybe there is something to the theory that the spread offenses in college are affecting the development of offensive tackles.

The different variations of the spread have basically depleted the offensive line talent pool in high school football.

The bigger athletes are playing defensive line because offensive line just doesn't matter as much when you're throwing the ball almost immediately after the ball is snapped.
