The problem with this thought process, is what plug and play QBs exist?  When is the last time a plug and play QB hit the FA market and was brought in to start? All I can think of is guys who signed to be backups somewhere.

The only way I want the Jets to trade up for a QB is if they have the opportunity to do it for Bortles or Carr. Even then I'm not keen on trading up. I'd much rather risk missing out on every QB in this draft and plugging holes around the offense than pinning our hopes and dreams on yet another early-round QB who has no one to throw to or protect him.

I saw on Twitter this morning that someone (I don't recall who) predicts we'll take Amaro in round 1. I admittedly don't know much about him, but TE or elite WR is where I want to go in the early rounds, so this sounds good to me.

All of that said, if McCarron or Manziel fall to 18, I wouldn't kick a puppy if the Jets grab him there.
Teams that draft well do so no matter where they pick. Teams that draft poorly do so no matter where they pick I want my team to win games and draft well

Technically not FA.

For the Vikings, he was.

Actually, he was more of a fly-to-Mississippi-and-make-me-feel-pretty agent.
