Christopher Johnson finished a 16-minute session with reporters. Main takeaways: “Full confidence” in Gase. Calls him a “brilliant” offensive mind. #Jets

Johnson gave full support to Darnold: "I think we're going to see him turn out to be that quarterback we all expected." He calls Darnold a "sterling quarterback." #Jets

Johnson agrees that Sunday's loss was "a mess," but he predicts fans will see "a different team moving forward." #Jets

As usual, Johnson did not give a playoff mandate to Gase. On how he will evaluate Gase: "I want to see real progression." #Jets

Johnson disagrees with the idea that they're punting on this season and saving for next year. Unsolicited, he says Douglas is in charge of spending/roster: "I've given Joe complete discretion on how to put this team together." #Jets

Johnson calls Jamal Adams a "great player ... it was really sad to see a player like that to leave the team." But he says it was "a deal Joe couldn't refuse." #Jets

Johnson on allegations against his brother Woody: "He denied it publicly. He denied it to me." Says he's never heard Woody make a racist or sexist comment. Johnson says he will maintain a prominent role in the organization when Woody returns, but when that is is "unknowable."

Johnson pretty candid on the decision to fire Maccagnan. Says the team is in "better hands" with Douglas. "Do I wish I had made the change earlier? Absolutely ... I have made mistakes, and that's one of them." #Jets

Johnson: "This is a roster we can win with ...if we stay healthy." #Jets

Johnson on the strong anti-Gase sentiment among fans: "I think that he has a lot more in him as a head coach than some of our fans are giving him credit for ... and I understand they want to see success. I think that they will." #Jets

I don't really expect Christopher to say anything else. Maybe he could tone down some of the language and not call Gase "brilliant" after last week, but if Christopher doesn't think Gase is a good coach, he would have been fired already.

Where do you think Chris Johnson gets his Jets analysis from if he actually felt the need to speak publicly after a week 1 loss?

Him having to say this after week one is not a good sign for Gase.

Even if he believes it, he can't really ignore it if we are 2-12 going into the final weeks can he? Especially if our offense is as dreadful as it appeared to be Sunday?

I hope he is right. I hope Gase flips the agenda around and we score 30 points a game for the rest of the season and Sam looks like the second coming. I don't think there is a shot in a hell of that happening, but it's better for every one of us if it does.

Saw this on Twitter and knew it would be a hit here.

We all have to find ways to entertain ourselves during football season.
So it turns out, Italian Seafood was right an everyone can go freak themselves.

The root cause of our issues this season can be traced back to CJ’s decision not to fire Duff along with Bowles.

We would likely have Matt Rhule and had a GM that knows what he’s doing handle the draft and FA.

Also, how was Gase able to immediately figure out that Duff was incompetent when CJ didn’t see it in 3 years?

   This ^

Question is who would Douglas have picked as HC - now he's kinda beholden to Gase.

How did Gase knew Duff was incompetent?   Maybe the success he had against the Duff put together Jets while he was at Miami?

Who cares what he says?

Isn't he out after this season anyway?

How did Gase knew Duff was incompetent?

Is this some sort of riddle? I'll take a crack at it.

"Because Duff hired him (Gase) as the Head Coach."

I'll see myself out.  8)

If the goal is progression, it helps to set a low bar to progress from.

Johnson on the strong anti-Gase sentiment among fans: "I think that he has a lot more in him as a head coach than some of our fans are giving him credit for"

Reminder that the problem isn't Gase, it's us not giving him enough credit.
