---

This mock is based off of my rankings and where I think prospects will go.  For instance, Johnny Manziel is not my #1 QB, but I have him going first overall to the Houston Texans over Teddy Bridgewater.  Just a hunch for now.

For the Jets it was a toss up between Davante Adams and Eric Ebron.  Adams' ability to be a legitimate #1 receiver won that battle.  The Jets haven't had one of those in a while.

I think we're going to see teams trade back in for AJ McCarron and the remaining receivers (Benjamin/Beckham)...but I will never feature trades in a mock draft.

Best Available:

Offense

AJ McCarron - QB - Alabama
Carlos Hyde - RB - Ohio State
Austin Sefarian-Jenkins - TE - Washington
Antonio Richardson - OT - Tennessee
Jordan Matthews - WR - Vanderbilt

Defense

Kony Ealy - DE - Missouri
Haha Clinton-Dix - S - Alabama
Dominique Easley - DT - Florida
Stephon Tuitt - DL - Notre Dame
Ryan Shazier - LB - Ohio State

No, I missed something on accident.  I changed some things around and didn't fix it.

Ehhhhh, I don't think the Giants take Evans in the 1st. I think they like Cruz-Randle-Jernigan, though they could sign a third receiver there.

I also don't think the Rams will take an OT in the first. Jeff Fisher refuses to take O-linemen in the first. Unfortunately, I don't think any of the top players really make sense for them - I'm pretty sure they'll end up trading down on draft day, but since this mock doesn't involve trade downs I can't exactly blame you.

I think the Raiders will take Clowney if he's there over Watkins.

Does Amaro really make sense for the Ravens? Unsure of Pitta's contract situation but he's pretty solid for them.

Not sure Van Noy makes sense as a Bronco.

I'd have to think the Seahawks would take Antonio Richardson over a corner.

Evans is a perfect fit for the Giants.  Cruz won't be the Cruz of old without a legitimate #1, and Evans would be that guy

If I was a betting man, the Browns will trade up to #2.

Why? He was fine with Randle in this year. They could sign someone like Boldin or Sanders though, sure.

Cruz is dynamic with mismatches.  He needs to have someone to take some of the heat off so to speak.  I am by no means saying that Cruz is not a good player.  Is Randle that guy?  Maybe, but I don't see it.

I thought they'd go defense with their higher first rounder...but then Jake Long blew out his knee.

The Giants' passing game is terrible in the redzone.  Hakeem Nicks is gone and he doesn't have a single TD this season.

Eli Manning needs a possession target to win jump balls.  Evans makes plenty of sense for them.

Jerrell Jernigan isn't a realistic contributor for them.  If they took Evans, they're receiving corps would be:  Evans - Randle - Cruz

Cruz needs weapons around him to get the most out of his ability.

Dennis Pitta and Ed Dickson will both be free agents this offseason.

Von Miller will probably miss a lot of next season.  Shaun Phillips plays on the other side.  He's old and on a one year deal.

Brandon Browner is suspended for the majority of 2014's season.  Walter Thurmond is a free agent that they'll likely let go after his suspension.

They still have Maxwell and Lane at corner, both solid players.

That'd be the like the Jets starting Darrin Walls

They both fit the 'Hawks scheme and are better than Walls

So?

Justin Gilbert is better and has more upside than either of them.  Plus, Byron Maxwell is a knee injury away from being moved to safety and/or retirement.
