Doesn't playing safety require that you be able to do a somewhat important thing like tackle with consistency/not whiff?  He's done absolutely nothing which would warrant a position change which would benefit the team.  Put him at safety and he's just as much of a liability.

I would agree that Cro isn't a tackling machine, but he is a ball hawk.  Rhodes couldn't tackle, yet everyone loved him at one point. 

Just to reiterate, I did say if the coaching staff felt he could play safety.

Well said and no he can't tackle like a safety should.

Actually, I'm kind of eager to see someone like Cromartie or DeAngelo Hall play safety. The position's been so thoroughly neutered over the past few seasons that it almost pays to field players who are allergic to contact at the position.

I certainly think that in the right scheme there's plenty of room for a safety whose skill set lies more towards being a ballhawk than a battering ram.
