Badger, Johnny's (in Mt. Vernon) has changed and not for the better.  The patriarch passed away and his wife (who made 'the sauce') tragically died in an accident with her son and took heir sensational sauce to the grave with her.  Went there today and it's not the same and certainly no longer worth the trip from Queens.  Too bad; in its day it was 'up there.'

From Queens?  I-678 to the Hutch to Johnny's Pizza, 30. W. Lincoln Ave., Mt. Vernon.  I know, I know, everyone knows some 'greatest' joint but this place is the real deal (old-time yankee paraphernalia galore on the walls).  Kill a rainy early Saturday afternoon...grab a few pies to go. as well....this place (in the words of John Stewart) make Chicago deep dish look like a tomato swimming pool for rats..
