That makes no freaking sense to resign Tomlinson a few days ago and cut him today for another guy that they could have just resigned those few days ago

I believe that Mr Deep is suggesting that the Jets should cut Tomlinson, not that they have. Mr Deep is not especially a fan of Tomlinson's on field production, and feels that the money used to pay his salary could be better employed elsewhere.

I'm guessing that word's not used in a slang fashion in the US quite the way it is in the UK.
