This is true, but this playcalling is amateurish and they are clearly babying Hackenberg as well. 

He is only reading one side of the field and these dudes just aren't getting open for him.

People want Sam Darnold (I do too), but he'll get killed with this supporting cast too.

I've barely been able to watch this preseason, so it may be a little unfair. And it's also a little unfair to say this about a 2nd-round pick. But drafting Hackenberg may end up being a fireable offense. How anyone saw him play in college and wanted to draft him in the 2nd round was insane. He's got raw tools, but so do guys you can get in the 7th round.
