Eddie Jackson was drafted two days after Jamal.
Which means he doesn't get the 5th year rookie option on his contract
Not to mention his APY is more than the franchise tag for safeties. So I imagine the bears got some very friendly contract language in there.
Regardless he's a year less than Jamal contractually and the tag is always an option
I'm not suggesting the team trys to screw Jamal, but he's under team control for 3 more seasons
And before I hear excrement about how he's a professional, all pro, leader etc etc. Let me know how things worked out with Revis and Wilkerson who both were home grown All-Pro players who ended up crippling this franchise by being horrendous contracts for the team
