Its so interesting that the same people making this argument are the ones who assert that there's absolutely no connection between say, a yuge, mass protest in Austin, and cases spiking in Texas. Nah, nothing to see here.
But hey, evil black conservative (or as so many skinny white liberals liked to call him, an 'uncle tom") dies and we didn't like his politics, so lets dunk on him!
Absolutely ghoulish.
Texas had already on the no travel list for the Navy since March and their positive test counts and infection rates have been high since April. George Floyd's murder and the subsequent protests occurred on May so Texas was trending that way well before the protests. The only thing keeping their numbers low in the early stages was the lack of adequate testing and reporting. It's also a state which saw a high level of anti-quarantine protests and opened up their businesses prematurely. So it's like there could be multiple contributing factors.
My favorite little couplet here is that the Trump Rally was sold as a mask optional event, an option Cain infamously passed on, but nearly every photo of protestors has them wearing masks if not straight up gas masks.
If you want to complain about ahitty people praising someone's death on the internet in general or this board in particular you can go look through the obituary column or even DCM's own comments on George Floyd.
