Can anyone explain how it's acceptable for the current President to be advertising a product sitting at the Resolute Desk? Is it legal? I can't get my head round this one.

I mean if he's not being compensated and there's no evidence of a quid pro quo

Then technically how's it any different from the president wearing a shirt with a Nike Emblem on it or something?

This was Trump being Trump.  Boycott Goya becomes the latest "outrage du jour" and Trump being Trump goes into Trump-the-Troll mode, says "hold my beer n' watch this" knowing full well the #outrage it will engender (this shouldn't be a surprise by now--it's his m.o.).   Trump's being a prick: "So you're gonna boycott Goya because they said nice things about me?   Ok, watch this!"
