Texans fire Gary Kubiak
« on: December 06, 2013, 10:58:00 AM »
It's being reported that kubiak is going to get fired today. Think he has a press conference in an hour?

If he's holding a press conference it's more likely he's resigning than being fired.

Well it says he's scheduled for a "meeting with the media"

This is all based on a Peter King tweet,  but it seems to be catching on

Wade Phillips as interim HC.

Apparently their owner is interested in Lovie Smith.

Didn't really think about this, but Cutler to the Texans is a really good fit...especially if Lovie goes there.

I was thinking exactly the same thing.

I even envisioned that scenario for us before this season started but I feel like there's no chance we'd go after a defensive coach again.

If Shanny gets shitcanned in DC I could see McNair going after him. One thing we know with that guy, money won't be an issue.

If the Texans go for Cutler then they are either trading their pick or going to pick Clowney.

Before talking about the Texans signing Cutler, you guys should probably research their cap situation otherwise you're just talking out of your derriere

low and behold..surprise!

http://overthecap.com/teamcap.php?Team=Texans&Year=2014

They're pretty much locked into their team. cutting schaub only saves 4 mil...10 mil in dead money

Danieal Manning and Owen Daniels are their only real opportunity for cap space and they draft picks to pay, etc.

And Like I said, no way in hell Cutler hits the open market. He'll get franchised/traded.

I pointed that out in the future QB thread. Doesn't mean they'll definitely keep him, especially after the season he had.

It's funny that it's the same people who think Rex is the worst coach in the history of the NFL are the ones who think the Bears just let Cutler walk.

Then suddenly the Texans have the first pick on a  "A+ best QB draft evar" where the Jets should trade up for a QB. Yet the Texans should sign Cutler instead of their pick of the crop of elite QB's.

Color me confused

I did that a long time ago.

When Ryan gets fired, I will enjoy your tears more than anyone's...
