My dad always says he's undefeated at tailgating

Maybe it's not I who doesn't know what he's talking about

Travis Etienne returning to Clemson.

How many times does a top college RB need to return to college only to see his draft stock plummet for others to stop making that same decision?

Still likely a 1st rounder.

He will be a Heisman favorite and Clemson will start the year as the pick to win it all.

If he dominates, he could elevate his stock into the top ten.

It’s risky but could pay off.

I hope it works out for him. I used to be more ambivalent about these situations but my attitude shifted more towards "take the money."

Same here.

Completely separate from the injury risk, I wonder if anyone has ever done a thorough analysis of boosting your draft value vs the time value of money.

I’m sure you can make some type of statistical correlation, but it’s a case by case basis. I’ll never forget what happened to Marshon Lattimore.

If you mean Marcus Lattimore, he got hurt as a true sophomore and then again as a true junior

All the stuff that’s happened to UGA backs should scare Etienne a little bit

Yeah that’s the one. Which year was the triple knee ligament tear

I was suprised Gurley got drafted as high as he did. I had that high of a grade on him, but it’s tough to bank a pick like that on an RB coming off a torn ACL

In 2012 vs. the Vols.   Recall seeing a number of Tennessee players shaken up and consoling him as well - very sad scene.   Dislocated knee, every ligament plus nerve damage.

That's why I was removing the injury risk from the assessment.

My question might be more properly stated: if you're rated, say, 56th in the coming draft, how many spots would you need to jump in the following draft to make up for any money you don't make in the NFL while attending one more year of school?

The time value of money dictates that if you go back to school, even without injury, unless you make a jump in your draft-slot, you've lost money. The question I'd be curious about--again apart from injury risk--is how many slots I'd need to jump, and is that realistic for my talent vs. the competition?

Bryce Love also comes to mind. He’s was RB1 and a 1st round pick and had a massive drop in stock.
