Seems like an overreaction to me. Fine him, yeah, and it should've been a penalty, but draft picks?

if the Pats only lose a pick for being caught definitively cheating game after game for years, there is no freaking way the steelers should be docked a DP for this.

Why Tomlin is looking the other way I have no idea, but I seriously doubt he intended to be in the way. Poor judgement probably, but how many times a game are coaches standing in the same spot?

Definitely should not warrant a draft pick docking. Especially when it didn't ultimately affect the outcome, and with precedence (intent as well) set with the Alosi incident a few years ago where he admitted intent to trip a player, and we didn't get docked anything.
Need a new one for a new board...

Lets be realistic

Theyre talking a 5th-7th round pick im sure

Which sure sint a  1st rounder like the Patriots

Its like being fined 5 grand vs a million bucks

As long as they do something to punish them, I'm still pissed about the sideline penalty we got.

I heard on the Sirius NFL station that if he had made contact, it is an automatic touchdown.  Has anyone ever heard that rule?

Yes, I can't remember what it's called though. I'm not sure I've ever seen it enforced.

$100K fine for Tomlin, the same as the Jets received for the Alosi trip. Potential draft pick forfeiture will be decided in March.

So if the Steelers forfeit a draft pick, what happens to that pick?
"Wrong!"

I don't think they should lose a draft pick. I think what needs to happen is that everything in football needs to be reviewable via challenge and that the "booth review" done for all turnovers and TDs should be expanded to all plays.

There is enough time for us to see every single play in every game replayed on TV. There is enough time for a booth official to see on each play whether time should be stopped to get calls, or lack thereof, correct.

Rather than punitive "don't do this again" behavior, why can't we assure that bad officiating doesn't hurt a team in the first place?
Teams that draft well do so no matter where they pick. Teams that draft poorly do so no matter where they pick I want my team to win games and draft well

Pats cheat for years...Belichick gets fined 500k, pats lose 1 draft pick.

Mike Tomlin is a dick for 5 seconds, gets fined 100k...steelers lose draft pick?

The fine is appropriate, the losing of draft picks is ridiculous when you consider spygate

Well it was a 1st round pick, and the Steelers would not lose a high pick.

They had to set an example on the fine.
