Unsigned G Kyle Long says he will "know with conviction" if he plans to play in 2020 or not "in the next few weeks."

"Full transparency I miss football but at what cost," Long podsted on social media. "I’m most likely gonna be on golf courses instead of gridiron’s." Long made sure to note he is not retired, rather "fired" by his previous team - the Bears. That led to fans asking him to return to Chicago, to which Long responded with "I would wait for a new staff." It has been reported that Joe Douglas and the Jets are trying to pull Long back into the league, similar to what they did with Ryan Kalil last season.

Get it done, Tanny

Hopefully not too similar.

i still think if a player feels they're done and end up retiring. Chances are it's because their bodies aren't healthy enough to go.  I wouldn't have high expectations if we sign Long, especially after going through this with Khalil last season.

I agree to not have high expectations, but Kalil sucked in 2018. AFAIK, Long has been good when on the field, but he just can't stay healthy.

What i don't understand is why we're wasting time on broken down retirees like Kyle Long....when Larry Warford is still available and  ripe for the plucking.

And at this point can almost certainly be had for less than Winters salary at this point
Need a new one for a new board...

Winters can eat excrement at this point.

When Warford was cut back in May, the rumor was his asking price was in the 7mil range.  After cutting Trumaine Johnson, there should be more than enough to sign him even if Warford's price inflated a little.

Didn't a chunk of winters cash just become guaranteed fairly recently

No fan of Winters but a couple of things to consider.  The Saints in their last two drafts went IOL, trading up in 2019 with Miami to grab their starting center Eric McCoy in the 2nd rd and this April drafting Cesar Ruiz with their 1st pick - the writing was on the wall for Warford (who also gave up a team high 32 pressures last year).  Also, today the Eagles announced that OG Brandon Brooks suffered a torn achilles and will miss the 2020 season.  Outside of 38 yr. old Jason Peters, Warford would look to be in Philly's sights.
