I still firmly believe the only reason there are caps in sports is so owners can justify underpaying the talent. "We have to fit you under the cap!!!"

There's enough space in every sport to sign guys. Some teams use it, some teams pinch every penny. It would be the same whether there was a cap in place or not and it creates no parity at all in any sport because every sport has methods around it for teams interested in competing over profiting.
