While I'm not a professional athlete, I dislocated my kneecap without tendon damage playing basketball and it took me atleast a year to get back to normal.I dont think there is any way in hell hes back in 3 weeks. If hes lucky I think the end of the season.

According to something I read yesterday, the fact that the Chiefs medical staff immediately relocated his kneecap on the field will help recovery time significantly - something to do with swelling increasing the longer it's out of position.
