DraftInsider's Tony Pauline reports the Jets have "inquired" about trading up to No. 1 overall in the draft, and labels them a "dark horse" to pull off the move.

This guy is the worst.

This guy is the worst.

Disagreeing with him is the best.

Tony Pauline was at the Jets' GM's office and overheard a rumor that "Oh yeah! Give it to me Duff!  Eat me like a booger and cover me in coffee!"

This guy is the worst.

Putting aside that it's Pauline for a moment...

I'm assuming the deal would be 2 first rounders (20+ next years) and Mo Wilkerson for #1. The question is would that be for Tunsil, or Wentz?

If it's for the QB, it's not a bad deal for "the guy," especially when you figure you have to move Mo anyways. If it's the LT, it's questionable, but if you get a lockdown LT for the next decade, it might well be worth it, again assuming we have to move Mo anyways.

Ultimately I'm sure it's BS, but it's at least something entertaining to discuss.

If we trade up the #1 for Carson Wentz, I will burn lower case t's in Mike Maccagnan's yard.

But at least then the trade up is a potential franchise QB.

But trust me, I wouldn't be happy about it either

We just lost another starting player...we're not trading up.

No QB in this draft is highly likely to be a starter in this league.  Not like last year.

There's a lot of QBs in this draft that can be starters in the NFL.

Highly likely though?

of course not. But if we were going to 1, it would be fairly exciting.

A trade up for a QB is a good trade if you think he's the guy to build your team around. Obviously if you give up ten firsts or something insane, not so much, but if the price is something like 2 guests and Mo? Make a move and get the QB.
