I had assumed he was done.  I can see a team with horrible corners taking a chance on him.  Especially at the league minimum.  I think the Jets will get that tiny bit of salary back as an offset.  Not that it matters much when we'll have $76 million in cap space.

If they put him in zone or on slower receivers instead of forcing him to be a number 1 guy, he'll probably do fine.  And since they'd be paying him peanuts (not $16 million like we were) it makes sense to do so.  If he's still in shape he'd make sense somewhere.  And it would give him a last chance to show he has some value still for 2018 (or not).

Chargers are going to be without their left tackle for at least the first six weeks of the season and will be starting a 2018 UDFA in his place. Already without Derwin James and possibly Melvin Gordon, they could regress sharply this year.

Chargers confirm that Rivers will not be returning and will be a free agent.

Do the Chargers have a legit #2 who can step in as a starter? Because it's not like the chargers are guaranteed an elite QB prospect. Unless theyre going all in on Brady or something this is really weird

The mighty Tyrod Taylor.

I don't think it's the Chargers' choice, Rivers has been pissed at the Spanos family since they left San Diego and given the Chargers aren't going to be competitive next year I imagine he has told them he's going to go find somewhere to chase a ring.

Let’s just pretend for a second that Taylor loses the starting job to Herbert while he is out and it’s Taylor’s last viable starting chance in the league. Can he sue the doctor for lost wages on the money he could have earned as an NFL starter if he played well enough to get a gig next year?

Jesus that guy is absolutely out of a job

for any sort of procedure both inpatient or outpatient an informed consent process is absolutely vital and necessary prior to the procedure, outlining the sorts of risks and complications the patient is taking prior to agreeing to go with the procedure despite knowing the risks.

i won't act like i know anything about being a professional sports team doctor but i have to believe that same sort of process occurred prior to injecting taylor's ribs in an attempt to relieve his pain and allow him to play.
