I liked mid 90s to early 2000s Brett Favre. The guy always looked like he was having a ball out on the field. He's really the only non-Jet I've liked since I was a kid.
As a kid, I liked Jack Lambert because of the Sports Illustrated cover.
I always liked Joe Montana because he always seemed so calm.
I used to like Ernest Givins, too, but that was more for the electric slide dance he did after he scored a TD. I also like Billy "White Shoes" Johnson because of his dances after he scored.
I liked WRs like Tom Waddle, Charlie Brown and Brian Brennan because they were basically Wayne Chrebet before there actually was a Wayne Chrebet.
I loved Mike Singletary because he was the best, and, those crazy eyes.
And, I always had a soft spot for the Eagles under Buddy Ryan. I loved Randall Cunningham (his play from the end zone in Rich Stadium is THE best I've ever seen a QB make) and I loved that secondary. Wes Hopkins, Andre Waters and Eric Allen were freaking crazy. Jerome Brown, Reggie White, Byron Evans, Seth Joyner...freak that was some defense.
Edit: I don't know if I would use the word "like," but I always respected the hell out of Walter Payton and Barry Sanders because of their ability and the way they played the game so gracefully. 2 of the best.
