Jon Beason traded to the Giants

Panthers LB Jon Beason arrived in New York Friday to take a physical with the Giants.

If he passes, he'll become a Giant, probably for a late-round conditional pick. The physical is critical because Beason has been beset by injuries in recent years, including an offseason microfracture surgery on his troublesome knee. He couldn't start over Chase Blackburn in Carolina, so it's hard to imagine Beason suddenly giving the Giants' struggling defense a jolt

Obviously, he has to pass his physical first...and that is far from a sure thing for a player made out of glass.

Signed a six-year, $51.338 million contract. The deal contains $25 million guaranteed -- a $20 million signing bonus, Beason's first two base salaries, and $3.75 million of his 2013 salary. Another $500,000 is available through Pro Bowl incentives. 2013: $1 million (+ $500,000 reporting bonus + $1.75 million in per-game roster bonuses), 2014: $6.5 million, 2015: $7.5 million, 2016: $8.75 million, 2017: Free Agent

The draft picks is a potential steal, I just dont know how much money they'll be on the hook for if they cut him.  His future salaries are decent if he gets back to 100%, but I dont see that happening
