Of course it is because not everyone will be able to afford the PS5 at launch.  It would be foolish to only release it on PS5. 

I'm not arguing with that.

I'm suggesting that neither console has any exclusive games that should make people want to go buy their new consoles.

Obviously there's other reasons to want the new consoles, and I have no doubt they'll sell out for months regardless.

But it's impossible for anyone to say the next gen launch lineup for both Xbox and Sony is anything more than hot excrement.

The only good reason someone should be rushing out to buy either console is if they have a new expensive as freak TV

If you don't have a 65+ inch TV that supports 4k hdr at 60FPS, I'm not sure what the next gen will offer you in the immediate near future.

Once their big exclusives come out (ff16, horizon dawn, halo etc) it's a different story.

But for now, they ain't offering a ton

Mostly because I probably won't be able to get one before they sell out.

If I can grab one I'm definitely getting Morales and HFW for PS5.

I'm not planning on getting it until Q2 of 2021.  I'm hoping that Madden gets a significant overhaul (probably not).

I think they're going to have to be more aggressive in terms of revamping the offline modes they've neglected for the last decade.

They got a lot of bad press for this years edition due to the stagnancy. Whether that reflects itself in change is something I suppose only time will tell.

The appealing thing for me, but I don't know that the new console matters, is the ever-expanding Game Pass offerings that will soon include EA All Access, and xCloud to play on your phone.

But the new console doesn't have anything to make you run out and buy it AFAIK

Yeah it just seems like a really weird launch strategy for both companies.
