Premier League restarts June 17th with a couple of games, then a full program the following weekend.

Yesss.

Given the rusty legs, how do you see these games going JE? My inclination in the early going is to heavy bet unders.

Not sure. Players were back in training this week and I'm sure the vast majority will have kept themselves in good shape while they've been off, and some teams will benefit from getting a rest at the most tiring point of the season and allowing injured players to recover. It will probably take a game or two for some players to get up to match fitness but I don't see it having a huge impact.

It will be interesting to see if some out of contract players extend to the end of the season, player contracts always terminate June 30th and if you're going to be a free agent on a team that isn't playing for anything I can see an argument for not extending the extra month to finish off the games and risk an injury.

Leeds promoted to the Premier League. I have a big soft spot for them having grown up in Leeds and spent my teenage years watching them a lot, but aside from that it's great to see a proper big club back where they belong.

There's a rumour that Messi is going to the group that owns Man City on a five year deal, with the plan for him to play for City for three years and then NYCFC for the remaining two.

He gave it his best shot.

This might just be a situation where a transactions delayed, given his demeanor towards Camp Nou and the fact that they basically told his best friends to freak off.

Watching Chelsea as we speak...I know the prevailing wisdom is that they're keeping Kepa in mothballs now so as not to have him further freak over his value, but if I'm any other team why would I shell out big money to a guy they have such little faith in they wouldn't even trot him out vs West Brom.

I never want to hear anyone tell me how soccer isn't a sport of the utmost elegance and beauty ever again. This magnificent passage of play is taken from a recent Championship game:

Everyone's all verklempt about it, but I feel like this happens every couple or three years. If it does actually happen then I'm entirely supportive of UEFA - they're out of every other competition, and any player participating is ineligible for selection for their country.

They seem to threaten this a lot, and I may be way off, but is this the first time a specific team list and formalized plan has been set forth?

I agree completely as to the stance UEFA is taking.
