Insider trading is big boy crime with big boy punishments, but the statement reads like he's fessed up to everything immediately and turned over everything he knows so presumably he has done a plea deal in exchange for giving the authorities the people they really want.

Browns released him, apparently he's likely to serve 8-12 months. He's only 27 and he'll likely have access to good training facilities at whatever minimum security white collar prison he ends up at, so it shouldn't be more than a career hiatus for him.
