Draft Day Chat
« on: April 24, 2015, 03:14:06 PM »
Any plans on getting a draft day chat going like we used to in the days of AOL Instant Messenger? CoverItLive.com could probably do it pretty well.

There's a live chat plugin for SMF, I can look into it when I'm back home.

Lol. Those AIM chats were amusing. From the time I kept calling picks for players we needed for other teams and was told to stfu.

Wasn't there a year MB was excrement hammered? If it wasn't you MB I apologize but I remember someone being plastered

No pick calling would be a deal breaker for me and, I assume, a lot of others.

That fucktard Mike Donnelly used to post tweets of picks before they were announced.

I get why the "insiders" would tweet out picks, but I have no clue why people do that (read Twitter for the picks and repost them). I used to mute the tv whenever that widening shot started on ESPN because I knew that was Berman tipping time.

Donnelly spoiling picks was the end of the line for him.

Twitter definitely ruined part of the draft experience, but somebody is going to do it. If you don't want to get tipped, turn off Twitter. I hate when the people on set tip it off though. Panning to a prospect getting a phone call is one thing, but open hints are very annoying.

I've never followed Twitter during the draft. What sorts of hints get thrown out there? How can the picks get spoiled?

Schefter and La Canfora tweet the picks before they are announced live.
