Atlanta Falcons
1 8 – DT Danny Shelton, Washington- From day one the best player on the line, he'll make the defense into a hybrid monster taking over for the statue of Paul Soliai.
2 42 – DB Quentin Rollins, Miami Ohio- Going to play the Earl Thomas role here, roaming free in the middle of the field. Safety limits his weaknesses and highlights his strengths.
3 73 – LEO Nate Orchard, Utah- Perfect fit for that LEO spot, I was really lucky to have him fall into the 3rd. Natural passrusher, and he'll get work in as a backup at the true LB spots.
4 107 – RB David Cobb, Minnesota- Tough, hard nosed runner is a great compliment to Devonta Freeman, who can be a stud in his own right.
5 146 – OG Shaq Mason, Georgia Tech- In the mix for the center job as a rookie, worst case a good swing interior lineman.
6 184 – TE Blake Bell, Oklahoma- The TE need has been relieved a bit by Toilolo's development and some FAs, but he's a team first guy with good athletic potential to develop.
7 225 – WR Bud Sasser, Missouri- Intriguing athleticism and size, very much flying under everyone's radar.
7 249 – OT Tayo Fabuluje, TCU- My hope would be that he can get his body to a better weight, then see if he's a developmental prospect inside or at tackle.
New York Giants
1 9 – OT Brandon Scherff, Iowa- A true perfect fit. Day one starter at either G or T, he gives the team flexibility on the line to get their best five on the field.
2 40 – FS Cody Prewitt, Ole Miss- Good size and athleticism to play centerfield, but also come up and make plays. First look is at free, but could play either spot.
3 74 – LB Kwon Alexander, LSU- A weakside player as a rookie, I see him as a guy who can fill out physically and handle any spot in the LB corps. Major potential.
4 108 – DT Marcus Hardison, Arizona State- Quick aggressive tackles are a big part of what Steve Spagnuolo likes to do. He'll fit perfectly next to Hankins/Ellis.
5 144 – TE Nick OLeary, Florida State- They have some solid players at TE, but O'Leary can be a versatile H back that the team hasn't had since the great Bear Pascoe left.
6 185 – DE Shaq Riddick, West Virginia- Long term developmental guy, his athleticism and potential use as a passrusher makes him a good stash.
7 226 – QB Bryan Bennett, SE Louisiana- Best case scenario here is a very skilled kid learning how to play the NFL game and provide versatility to an offense. Very little downside for a player with his skills.
7 245 – DB Robensen Therezie, Auburn- He'll start as a swiss army knife for the defense and specials, with the long term goal of fitting him in as a nickel player/safety hybrid.
