When Lauren Tannehill, the wife of Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill, returned a rental car this month in South Florida, she accidentally left a big surprise in the back seat: an AR-15 rifle, a Broward sheriff's report says.

The rifle, valued at $2,000 and still in its case, remained in the Nissan Rogue when it was rented to another person hours later Jan. 4, the report said.

Ahahaha.  That was on Reddit a few days ago.  Someone posted "I rented a rental car, and look what was in the back seat".  That's hilarious it was his wife who left it there.

You go to a busy rental outlet, they'll do a quick scan over the outside to make sure there are no new dents, get in the driver's seat to check the mileage, then move on. I can easily see a cloth case like that, especially if it's a similar colour or shade to the upholstery, going unnoticed.

It's the same condition in which authorities discovered Bess, the former Dolphins receiver, in his Cooper City home 10 months earlier -- and the reason his family had him hospitalized against his will.

Six BSO deputies were needed on that night to restrain Bess, who was screaming, "Hide the guns," "Where is my weed," and "I want to get in the end zone; throw me the football," according to the incident report.

Word of this prior meltdown was never made public until now. The Dolphins traded Bess to the Cleveland Browns a month after his hospitalization. Bess remains a member of the Browns; a team spokesman said the Browns are aware of the situation and are working to gather more information.

Apparently its common for Miami dolphins players to end up in mental hospitals.
