Waiver wire, or does he have the accrued seasons to hit FA?

Jaguars coach Doug Marrone asked on media Zoom call about attempts to trade Leonard Fournette: "We couldn't get anything. A fifth, a sixth—anything."

Someone will sign him and then cut him in 8 days.

Jaguars have fired GM Dave Caldwell, per sources.

Marrone probably won't be far behind

That makes no sense to me. Why fire Caldwell now without canning Marrone too and opening the search for everything?

It makes more sense to fire GM's after the season IMO. Once the trade deadline is over, they aren't making any meaningful moves to impact the roster.

But whatever, yet another NFL employee fired before Gase.

We hired a GM right after a draft.  Nothing in this league makes sense.

What about Doug Marrone? Owner Shad Khan spoke to him after the game to confirm that the decision on Dave Caldwell has no bearing on Marrone or his coaching staff.  Khan informed Marrone that he and his coaching staff are secure through the end of the 2020 season

just like Gase...gotta drive the tank.

Note: I didn't say we made any sense. The only good thing about hiring a GM after the offseason, was the guy we hired.

Probably to get the GM in there sooner to get their scouting jump stated.

Trent Baalke is the interim GM. He's no slouch either, he helped build the Jim Harbaugh 49ers super bowl run.

huh...I didn't know the Jags were loaded with draft capital too.  I knew they have plenty of cap space.  We could be in competition with them for top tier coaches as well.  This is why the tank is important to the Jets....Lawrence will tip the scales in our favor.

Here's the thing about the #Jaguars: They have 12 picks in the 2021 draft, including double 1s and double 2s. They are projected to have over $100M in cap space. This roster has some intriguing young players.

The next GM will have plenty to work with.

We are the two most well positioned franchises to improve this offseason for sure.

I'll bet you the Jags spend a excrement ton of their FA money, while we spend about 2/3 of it.

I also expect the Jags to use all 4 of their top picks, without a trade. I expect us to trade down from 1 of our top 3 picks.
