Manish: Potential of Jets/Eagles draft trade
« on: February 17, 2015, 09:25:57 AM »
http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/football/jets/mehta-jets-place-pull-blockbuster-draft-trade-article-1.2117943

I'd be on board for this.  Switch 1sts, pick up the Eagles' 2nd this year, and 1st and 2nd next year.  I doubt we could get that much, but even if it were close, that would be awesome.  I'd be happy with swapping 1sts and adding a second this year and next year's 1st only.

We are so far away from competing and wouldn't be able to do anything remotely near what Chip Kelly could do with Mariota. The only reason I can see that the Eagles would want us as a trade partner is that there must be a huge trade value difference between the 5 and 6 spot.  Otherwise, just move up to 5 and take us out of the picture.  The Redskins aren't taking a QB and they sure as hell would be happy to regain some of the picks they lost from the RG3 trade up.

Of course, but this one actually is worthy of discussion.

Maybe in April.  Right now, it's all fairy dust.

Shut up, I'm bored at work and my standards have lowered.  It's essentially 2 AM and the club is closing.  Gotta scrape the bottom of the barrel.

Id do this in a heart beat. Id also be very interested in a deal that involved Nick Foles. Like swap firsts, 2nd, Foles and next years 1st. Trades that make sense never seem to happen in the NFL though.

I could give or take Foles.  If they threw him in, fine.  If they substituted him for next year's first, no way.

I'm not enamored with Foles either.

I agree. I dont love Foles, but he has been an average to above average QB when he's played, which is certainly an improvement over what the Jets have fielded. The guy did have an MVP type season just a year ago, and granted it was in a great system, but it was still very impressive.

Foles was also surrounded by top tier skill players.

Decker, Kerley, plus one of the many talented wrs in free agency and a drafted receiver makes a  talented group of offensive weapons.

Amaro isn't bad, but  Thomas and say Crabtree plus an early drafted receiver with Foles and this team is easily looking at a top 20 offense

you have to get Foles in this deal. Chip Kelly doesn't like him and will sell cheap, and he would be a better option than all the veteran QBs on the market.  Foles is not a good fit for Philly's system, so it would be interesting to see what he looks like in a traditional offense.

I'm not saying I like Foles or think he's a great option, but he's young, doesn't currently have a ton of trade value, and proven he can successfully run an NFL offense.

My dad always says he's undefeated at tailgating

Maybe it's not I who doesn't know what he's talking about
