I was texting with the repair man for my heater that is on the fritz. In the process of telling me he'd be here tomorrow, he was telling me he was going hunting in the morning and was smoking a duck today for his daughter's 21st birthday.

I was 0.01 seconds away from hitting the send button on a text that said "thanks and enjoy the freak!"

My autocorrect has been on jetoffensive too long.

Try using the swype feature on Samsung. I can't tell you how many times I have had to stop the damn thing from sending the word: queynte to JE, MB, Guinness or you My Mom, Pizza and Pizza's daughter, a female friend or 2....it would have been ugly.

That function exists in Microsoft Outlook so the idea is already out there.

If you use an Android phone, the app Chomp can replace your default texting app, and it has a feature to delay sending your texts. There's a free version (ad supported) if you want to try it out. It's what I use (paid version).

If you have an iPhone, well, I can't really help you if you don't want to own a real phone.

There are also apps that allow you to set drunk mode, which restricts you from sending texts to certain people between certain hours when you've notified it that you'll be drinking. Will save you making those booty calls to Puck at 1am.
