I agree.  He was a hit machine.  I loved watching him and John Kruk hit.  2 fat, out of shape guys that seemed to always be on base despite being slow as excrement.  RIP.

I remember playing as Gwynn in the home run derby mode of the baseball computer game I had in the late '90s.

That's funny. I doubt Gywnn even hit a 100 home runs over the course of his career.
