freaking overdosed on heroin (and possibly Fentanyl?)

Unfortunately we usually don't get the chance to ask them what they were thinking. Philip Seymour Hoffman comes to mind too.

I'm still bummed over Hoffman's death. Yuge loss.

both Harris and Mauser were excellent.  Just like Bon Scott and Brian Johnson.

Bon Scott was an excellent singer.  Brian Johnson's an excellent dude but he often sounds like he's painfully squeezing out a reluctant deuce

"agggggh youu!"    (end of 'shook me all night long')    : )

You chose, quite possibly, the worst AC/DC song of all time.

AC/DC with Bon Scott were an excellent blues-influenced rock and roll band.

AC/DC with Brian Johnson are one of the all time legends of rock music with a sound that is absolutely distinct from anyone who came before them, and have influenced pretty much the whole of the rock music world for the last four decades.

There is no comparison.

'sniff'.....'sniff'......  Brian Johnson's a really good, car-loving, down-to-earth bloke and a hell of a rock belter and you sir are a mirthless, postulating prig   ; )

lmao......good god, listen to you two women!!!

Brian Johnson (fwiw) in an interview recalled how he had done some studio work pitching for a product (paid him 300 quid) and afterwards before he headed back homeward stopped in ACDC's studio to audition.  Long story short, he got the gig.  Fast forward: BJ's first song he ever wrote with ACDC was "Shook Me All Night Long" and after hearing a rough take of it the day after they recorded it remarked to Malcolm: "I think this might be the best song I ever heard" (this as the new guy mind you) at which point Malcolm said "you might be right."  Shall I find it for you Mr. Robert Christgau you Manatobic snob??

At the 6:25 mark - there it is, the motherlode:

Throw me in the "love AC/DC in general but prefer Brian Johnson while also thinking Shook Me All Night Long is the worst of their biggest hits" camp.

As far as their most played tracks, I'll take Thunderstruck, but I'm also a yuge fan of Who Made Who.

Former 49er and Saint linebacker Parys Haralson at only 37. Very sad, no cause of death released yet.
