I still can’t believe this. There aren’t many famous people I really give a excrement about but this is one of the few I would have loved to have a beer with. This sucks.

True but he seemed like a genuine guy and had a real dry sense of humor. All those years I worked in midtown (and I’ll probably have to again at some point) I often saw celebrities and always hoped I’d see him. I figured it wouldn’t be too unrealistic.

A good friend of mine had the opportunity to do just that. He said Bourdain was generous and considerate as well as seeming genuinely interested in people both on and off camera. He'll be mourned by many.
