The Obituary Column
« on: October 27, 2013, 12:36:00 PM »
Lou Reed dead at 71.

Shame to see such a hugely important musician go but he did bloody well to make it to 71 given the life he lived.

I obviously thought that was a joke when I first saw that
My dad always says he's undefeated at tailgating

Maybe it's not I who doesn't know what he's talking about

Saw that, how close to the end of filming were they for fast and furious 7?

I don't know, but it's tricky to handle it.  You don't want to kill off the character in the movie, but if they haven't got enough footage to fake it (like Oliver Reed in Gladiator), I'm not sure what they can do.  They can't pull a Heath Ledger.  I'm guessing they work it into an arrest if there's enough footage to pull it off.

Or they can just re-imagine the entire series...

When Justin Lin left the series, I figured it was doomed anyway.  This kind of seals it.  It's a shame.  Lin should have done nothing but make FF movies for the rest of his life.  Change the cast, keep pumping them out.

I think killing off the character is the only way to go really

Apparently his last tweet was from the F&F 7 set. So they have some footage, but no idea how much. I can't decide if it would be better or worse for them to have almost no footage, or for Walker's portion of F&F7 to have been 98% completed.

I agree here, I don't think an arrest makes sense with the tone of the series. If Brian got arrested, then Dom would simply do everything in his power to break him out of jail.

He has to die unless by miracle his portion of the filming is already done, but I think that is probably pretty unlikely.

98% completed.  No doubt about it.
