Meat Loaf

Inextricably linked to playing Super Mario Bros. 3 in my brother's bedroom as a kid for me.

Still less obnoxious than the people who were suddenly huge Prince and David Bowie fans when they died.

Yes!!
And this wouldn't even make a list of their top 20 jams. They are on another level, love these dudes.
They really are something. El-P’s verse is absolutely insane on that song. Once he starts with “Don’t fret little man…” that whole bar is ridiculous.

Why didn't anyone tell me the best track of the century dropped this month?

Two minute song with a 30 second intro and a 40 second outro.

New Billy Talent album. Really good if you like their sound. There's a song with Rivers Cuomo that manages that thing that a lot of crossovers don't - it sounds like both bands at the same time.

Never heard of them. First 15 seconds made me think of Carry On My Wayward Son.

Awful.  Wedding band sensibilities.

Nice call.  Kansas, another guido-hippy group out of the doobies/3-dog night school of vibrato-voiced dreck.

I figured you'd be more on an ELO guy.

First single from a new British thrash crossover band Cage Fight. Very promising. Might be Badger / Cato's thing?

Haha.  Never was an ELO guy (beatles lite).  Trivia: there was a pre-ELO group fronted by Jeff Lynne by the name of The Move whose LP ‘California Man’ contained the more guitar-driven, rock-oriented original version of the song “Do You Want my Love” which ELO later released as a slick string-driven hit single (which imho blowed vs. the earlier ‘Move’ version).
