If anyone isn't sure what to conclude from the map:

Black people voted for Adams, young people voted for Wiley, white/wealthy people voted for Garcia, and Asian people voted for Yang.

Edit: Williamsburg a bit of an oddity here, it seems like a combo of young/wealthy goes to Yang.

Looking at Greenpoint, Bklyn it looks like it went overwhelmingly for Wiley(?) yet isn't that a Polish enclave (with some Hispanic) ?

It is, but it has also become a popular place for 20-somethings to live like Bushwick and Astoria.

I love RCV. Wiley/Garcia votes almost enough to overtake Adams before the 124k outstanding votes are counted. Enough Wiley votes in that group could mean that Wiley is the new second place vote getter, which means that current Garcia votes would need to break for Wiley at high numbers for Wiley to have a chance. But any of Adams, Garcia, or Wiley could easily still win - I'd guess Garcia is the favorite right now, followed by Adams then Wiley.

The fact that it will take until possibly mid-July to get those 124k outstanding votes counted is dumb, though. Also why even tabulate RCV when you have so many outstanding votes? NYC BoE sucks, but is very entertaining to watch from the outside.

Civil rights attorney Maya Wiley filed a lawsuit Thursday in state court in Brooklyn seeking to preserve her right to challenge the election results and asking for all of the ballots that were “cast or attempted to be cast” to be saved.

“This is a wide open race and as is standard procedure, my campaign filed a petition to preserve the right to challenge the results should we believe it is necessary,” Wiley said

Has anyone found a good resource for looking at the round by round RCV elimination results? I found most of the articles covering it to be underwhelming.

Edit: this infographic is good

It's funny, Wiley voters who had Adams as a backup, arguably the least politically coherent ranking one could have in this race, ended up being the final difference maker.

In other news actually good candidate Brad Lander won the primary for comptroller which sets him up nicely to run for mayor down the line if he wants. Unless he gets derailed by another crime wave hysteria or billionaire who wants to play mayor.
