I don't want to keep Yangposting but the phrase "Michael Scott levels of cringe" was too good

My dad always says he's undefeated at tailgating

Maybe it's not I who doesn't know what he's talking about

Excellent response to an IDF air strike that killed 20 people, nearly half of them children.

I'm gonna have a freaking stroke

Particularly bad for Donovan who is trying to run in the "look at all the homework I did with my detailed policies" lane. Not as bad for McGuire who is running in the rich guy lane and is not surprisingly out of touch.

That's insane. Neither of them has a net worth so stratospherically high as to not have to ask the price of a property (McGuire is listed around $15M and Donovan around $4M); the state with the lowest median house price is WV at $107K, how is it possible for them to be so out of touch?

Right, but it's different. Everybody has a point about which they stop caring about the price of something, because it is of no relevance or consequence to them. I don't know how much a loaf of bread is because it doesn't really make a material difference to whether I can afford to buy it or not, but I know how much a new car is because I have to think about it before I can decide whether I can afford to buy one. There are people for whom an average home is in loaf of bread territory but these guys are not remotely wealthy enough to be them, and assuming that they actually own homes I find it impossible to get my head round how even a moment's thought would lead to a guess of $100K to buy the average home in a borough of NYC.

An innovative NYC park just opened at the same pier location where the Carpathia arrived with Titanic survivors and from where the Luisitania set sail (you can see the iron arch to the dock in the pix):
