Some people get upset when they are lit off at midnight or if they have a dog who shits themselves due to noise phobia or if someone lights off a freaking howitzer at any time.
I live in a busy city, fireworks are set off here as well. I don't even hear them most of the time, the only time I know about it is when the whining starts on Facebook. On the odd occasion I do hear them they are of literally no consequence.
My dog, and the one before him, is completely unbothered by them but I do have a small degree of sympathy, however if your dog reacts to an unspecified noise like that presumably he's going to have the same issues with all sorts of other things in the city that make noise also.
One of the things that has been made abundantly apparent during the pandemic is just how much some people hate other people enjoying themselves, and how much pleasure they get from complaining and if possible preventing those people having fun.
