The only way I could see it happening is if Idzik/Rex get canned and the new GM just wants to tear everything down and start over.

Not necessarily even tearing everything down, but simply moving to a true 43 would make him less important to the defense. You could keep all three on the line (with Mo or Sheldon at LE), but it would make less sense to really pay him as his position becomes less specialized.

2. Chris Johnson

CJ2K had a nice game against the Patriots last Thursday night. It wasn't exceptional, but it was solid enough for fans to notice. The problem with the Jets' backfield is that the team already has so much talent, being loaded with Chris Ivory and Bilal Powell. New York could easily trade Johnson, perhaps to fill a hole in the secondary among injuries, and they wouldn't lose much production in the running game.

That's especially given Ivory's proven success as a bruiser. Powell blocks well and although he wouldn't provide the same change of pace that Johnson presents, I think it should be enough. And for what the Jets could get for him, it could end up benefiting the team in the long run. But they'd have to give him up at the right price.

5. Denarius Moore

The Raiders and wide receiver Denarius Moore need to part ways as soon as possible. Ever since his promising rookie campaign, Moore has slowly fallen out of favor due to injuries and poor effort. He led the team with five touchdown catches last season, to go with 695 yards, and has managed to catch 17 touchdowns in his first three NFL season.

However, Moore has just 10 catches for 82 yards and no scores this year. He's fallen behind Andre Holmes, Jacoby Jones and Brice Butler on the depth chart. It's time for a change of scenery, and hopefully, that revives Moore's once promising NFL career.

It's so weird how football is the one major sport in the US that has very little movement on trade deadline day. Maybe it's due to the relative earliness so most teams are still in the playoff hunt? I get that systems vary widely, but if you can get an impact player and you're a serious contender isn't it worth a shot?

Well think how hard it is to incorporate a player into a new system too

Football is all about chemistry, timing, a far different playbook etc.

I think in season football trades rarely make a lot of sense for that season
