1992: Home loss to Kansas City 23-7. Dennis Byrd suffers broken neck; Ken O’Brien won starting job back, broke thumb, last game as Jet, 1-3, 13 yds.  Jets go 3-9.
1998: Home win over Carolina 48-21. Vinny 16-21, 255 yds, 2 TDs; Martin 21 car, 110 yds, 2 TDs, Chrebet 7 rec, 107 yds, 2 TDs; Keyshawn 35 yd rush TD. Jets go 8-4.

Jets upset defending NFC champion Vikings, 1970:

Dennis Byrd carted off, 1992:

Kerry Rhodes INT, 2009:

Three things I remember about this game:

1. The Revis pick six.

2. The halftime show featuring dogs catching frisbees. One dog mounted another on like the 30 yard line and started going to town which led to a huge standing ovation from the home faithful. Seriously I don't ever think I've heard a cheer that loud, inclusive of ring of honor ceremonies for what goes on at halftime.

3.. Being told to shut up in the car on the way home because I was outright giddy over the possibility of being back in the playoff hunt. That feeling was maintained for two weeks as they beat the Bills in Toronto (freak Marshall Faulk for saying something to the effect of, "well neither of these teams will be playoff bound'), and Kellen putting together the worst performance out of a quarterback in a 23 point victory I've ever seen before an absolutely brutal last-second home loss to Atlanta caused me to throw my hat to the ground as we were leaving the stadium and say, "TEAR THIS PIECE OF excrement DOWN, I'M SO GLAD I NEVER HAVE TO STEP FOOT IN THIS PLACE AGAIN."

Of course Jim Caldwell/Curtis Painter and every team losing that needed to lose would open up the door again then next week and two weeks later I'd be freezing my derriere off in a state of euphoria as the Jets destroyed Cincy at home to take the final wild-card spot. 2009 was insane man.

I was thinking about that year last night, as hopeless as the playoff seemed. There was a Thursday night upset, I think Jacksonville beat someone, then the week we lost the Atlanta game and Rex thought we were out, our chances actually increased from everyone else losing.

Revis vs Steve Smith was part of that great year when he went against so many #1 WRs and shut them down.
So it turns out, Italian Seafood was right an everyone can go freak themselves.

And since it's Thanksgiving week and Bengals week, let's not forget the Thanksgiving night 2010 game:

What a fun game that was. We showed up in an RV at about 9am for the night game and had a full Thanksgiving dinner spread. One of my favorite tailgates ever. We were literally the only ones there for a few hours.

Ten years ago today.

That was a huge win after Revis dropped that INT against Atlanta the week before. I still think if he caught that ball he wins the 2009 DPOY award over Woodson
Need a new one for a new board...

Wow. Three years later was Jan 4, 2003, our last home playoff game, the 41-0 win over Indy with Chad. Recently watched it on YouTube.
