This was the game that made me a true fanatic. I was only mildly into football before but that game and the season that followed hooked me for life.

Worst birthday of my life.  I was at the game, had two friends thrown out, and then that happened.  I thought we had something in Glenn Foley after that day.  Oh, and the freaking 49ers fans were so freaking nice.  They weren't even condescending, but I was completely demoralized by the whole thing and hated them for being so damn nice.

i was at that game. One of three NFL games I've ever been to. It was freaking  glorious the despair of the entire stadium as Morton broke through for the TD in OT for what I believe was the shortest OT ever at the time (might still be). He was running right at my endzone, and it was just amazing fun to see.
Need a new one for a new board...

Didnt morton return the opening kickoff for regulation and OT? That season is the one that hooked me for life to, only made it to 1 game that season....Green Bay.

Same story here.

The whole lead up to the game was a great part of it. We had some of those crazy playoff scenarios along with the 3 way tie possibilty.

The parking lot exploded when NE tied it up.

I remember all the nervous pacing in the parking lot, everyone watching their TVs and fiddling with the antennae.

The stadium went nuts when NE won.

I wasn't there, but it remember the second the building erupted when the Pats won, there was absolutely no chance that we were losing that game. We obliterated the Packers and it was so freaking awesome to watch that game. Was that the year we destroyed Peyton 41-0 the next week? God that season was fun. It was also incredibly obvious to me that winner of the Jets Raiders divisional game was going to the Super Bowl.

Yes, those games were six days apart. Green Bay was the 4:00 Sunday game and Indy the 4:30 Saturday playoff game.

Those were my first two live Jets games. Needless to say things went downhill from there.
