Queen & Slim was a very good movie

Bonnie and Clyde for the Black Lives Matter generation -- almost as if Spike Lee directed his version of True Romance

I have seen American History X at least 5 or 6 times now and every time I see it, it still astonishes me.

I keep thinking about the brilliance of that stuck door scene in Uncut Gems.  There's so much tension because of what's at stake and how visibly close Howard is to his goal that I was on the edge of my seat because of nothing but a jammed door.  And yet it's a completely hilarious slapstick sequence.

But the genius of it is that here's this scene that is so tense and so silly that you can't even really process that the Safdie's have blatantly shown you the Chekhov's Gun (err.. knife, nail file, whatever) that will resolve the plot.  You know the Gun is there but you don't know it's the Gun until the moment it's fired.  That's masterful storytelling.

My heart starts beating rapidly any time I think about this movie

Since we're all stuck in the house, I want to offer access to my Plex. I have about 8TB of movies and shows. Send me a message if you're interested.

Tom Brady kisses his kids like that kid from Glee who hung himself last week.

Anyone ever seen Alone in the Wilderness?  It's this hour long doc about a 50 year old man who moves to the middle of nowhere in Alaska and builds a log cabin by hand.  I can't find it anywhere other than torrent sites but it's perfect quarantine fodder.
