^ That movie is awesome, and it has way more than one badass scene.

True but I'm sure you know the one I'm talking about that stood out over the others

The pool scene?

I thought the scene in the hospital and the scene on the field trip were great.

The Conjuring lived up to the hype for the most part.  We rented it knowing next to nothing (other than it got surprisingly good reviews for a haunting genre movie), which I would highly recommend if you plan on seeing it.  The less you know going in the better.

I watched a documentary called Jiro Dreams of Sushi. It was pretty good.

I thought The Conjuring was a bit boring, it was a horror movie for people who haven't seen a horror movie before. Reasonably well made but painfully cliched.

I like to consider myself a decent judge of the genre.  I would not even consider this a horror movie.  It's a thriller.  The fact that it's based in the 70's gives it a certain innocence.  It was really a throwback to simpler times with less special effects.  That would pretty much explain why there were some cliches, which there certainly were.

I saw Judge Dredd last night, not the Stallone abortion, it was good, it reminded me a bit of The Raid.

I keep hearing good things. I think it's on Netflix so I've got to check it out.
