Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter

The Patriots filed tampering charges Wednesday against the Houston Texans for the attempted general manager hire of Nick Caserio, league sources told ESPN.

The NFL now is expected to gather relevant informant to open its investigation against Houston, per sources.

I believe that this is less about the extension and more about paying Brady more money. It won’t keep him from retiring when he wants to walk away (which hopefully is at the end of this year

Patriots' Patrick Chung indicted on cocaine possession charge
By NBC Sports Boston Staff August 22, 2019 11:37 AM

Patrick Chung has landed in legal trouble of the New England Patriots' third preseason game.

A Belknap (N.H.) County grand jury indicted the Patriots safety one a cocaine possession charge earlier this month, according to assistant attorney Keith Cormier.

Chung knowingly possessed cocaine on July 25 in Meredith, N.H., where he owns a home. He was indicted on Aug. 8.

The Laconia Sun listed 32-year-old Patrick C. Chung of Meredith, N.H. as one of several people cited in a recent grand jury session, and the paper confirmed that indeed is the Patriots safety. (Chung's middle name is Christopher.)

Chung is scheduled to appear in Belknap Superior Court for his arraignment next Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. ET.

As the Sun notes, cocaine possession in New Hampshire is a Class B felony that carries a potential prison term of 3 1/2 to seven years.

Not really an lol as it's fairly serious

But this could be fairly devastating as I don't know how the patriots OL depth is and I saw what a backup center did to us

The Athletic's Jeff Howe reports Patriots C David Andrews' season is in jeopardy after being hospitalized with blood clots in his lungs.
Andrews is expected to miss a "significant amount of time." It's a similar diagnosis to Chargers LT Russell Okung, who has been sidelined the entire offseason and summer. Andrews was Pro Football Focus' No. 17 center out of 39 qualifiers a year ago and is a team captain who is crucial in relaying Tom Brady's blocking assignments. It's a big loss for the Patriots' offensive line. Ted Karras will take over for Andrews at center. The trickle-down effect obviously hurts the Patriots' depth.
