Not Vrabel? Awesome.

Also my fear of them going after and getting Harbaugh was thankfully short lived.

I think Mayo could be very good, but it won't matter if they don't find a QB.

IMHO this is the most difficult job Mayo could've walked into.

You have no quarterback, a drastic restructuring of how business is done (the guy that basically controlled everything just walked out, and oh by the way he's a verifiable living legend in the league), and middling skill position talent. You don't have a high enough pick to draft one of the top two QB's in the draft, and will have to sacrifice significant assets to move up. Both your tackles are free agents on the offensive line, your defense has some young talent, but how are Judon and Gonzalez going to look after basically missing almost an entire season.

Oh and by the way you live in a division where the quarterbacks next year are Tua, Rodgers and Allen.

TBF some of those are problems the new GM will have to worry about, although obviously Mayo is going to have to turn whatever the GM does into results. I doubt he'll be expected to compete next year though.

The Patriots will have plenty of money and a good number of players they can move on from if they want to.  They can burn it down as much as they want and there will be no rush on Mayo to produce year 1 since he's new.  No idea who the GM will be.

Strong disagree.

That fanbase doesn't know how to lose.

My dad always says he's undefeated at tailgating

Maybe it's not I who doesn't know what he's talking about

In the end, he got the guy he wanted and got extra capital, that’s a move you always want to make.

It just sucks he had the chance to do it because we pick swapped with the Packers for no reason.
