Started a thread for this back on the old site.  It's getting a wide release this week - currently has a 95% on RT and it's being called the best movie about slavery ever made.

It's a movie about slavery. You have to give it an A or else you'll be labeled a racist.

The guy pretty much summed up my feelings about the movie based off what I've seen in the trailers. Looks to be just a "Hey! Slavery was evil! Look how evil it was!" type of film.

It's a true story, and slavery was evil.

Finally saw this.

Much like McQueen's other movies, it was hard to watch.  One of the best movies I've seen in quite some time though...

There's a ...near-hanging... scene that just floored everyone in the theater.  You could hear a pin drop.
